Donald and Gun Bauchner launched The Perfumer's Workshop in 1971, opening a personalized perfume boutique. They quickly became renowned for their ability to match customer's personal preferences with just one sniff. When the fragrance Tea Rose was launched in 1977 it became an instant success and today most of their products are distributed throughout the world. The brand's products are still manufactured in the US. The company made a name for themselves when they managed to acquire a concession within Bloomingdale's stores. A favorite since the end of the 1970s, Tea Rose by Perfumer's Workshop was or is worn by many famous women. Among them are Princess Diana, Grace Kelly, Catherine Deneuve, Nicole Kidman and others. The iconic fragrance was composed of bergamot, rose, lily, tuberose, sandalwood and a hint of amber. By the end of 2011 over 50 million bottles were sold.
