The DW-5900 is a G-SHOCK based on the theme of “back to basicsâ€, that was originally released outside Japan as part of the 35th-anniversary series.  The basic digital model from the early days of G-SHOCK was released as a basic design without any frills, and now features an offset 3 o'clock printing design based on the international model not found in the conventional LCD models.  It has been faithfully reproduced, right down to the color of the text on its dial and buttons and strap and case. Furthermore, in addition to the basic stopwatch and timer features, it also has practical functions such as an EL backlight. It is a revival model of the long-selling DW-6900 series that used three digital graphics.

Improved Construction: Even lighter weight is achieved with the watch’s updated design featuring an inner case made of resin, and a back cover with panel construction. The module is shock-resistant to protect against electronic components’ detachment or breakage and watch hands.
Shock-resistant Structure: Just like the other G-Shock watch which upended conceptions of analog watches’ susceptibility to damage from shock, the watch is built to protect against shocks of all kinds – no matter the angle – thanks to hollow case construction and omnidirectional covering.
