This is a very unique fragrance that showcases an edgy. On application, you are introduced by this warm and somewhat leathery scent. After a slight dry down the floral aspect of this fragrance begins to open up. The base remains very much in the background with a hint of patchouli. The final result is a very unusual and well done composition that is not for everyone but works extremely well for those who can appreciate it. Launched by the design house of Byredo in 2008, ROSE NOIR is a scent that evokes a sense of timelessness.
The top notes of Rose Noir are unexpected and intriguing with Cardamom, Freesia, Grapefruit, Red Berries. The heart is floral, fruity and slightly smoky with Lily of the Valley, Raspberry, Rose Damascena , Violet, Jasmine. Ceaselessly surprising, the base is very unique with it's mossy musky-ness. This is an olfactory novel which needs to be experienced over time. It is the unique quality of the olfactory experience that correlates to our "sensory experience" - how each of The Five Senses can be appreciated.
