About The Mabkhar:Â
The 'Mabkhar' is a traditional censer found across the Arab World and Turkey. Mabkhara was traditionally made from clay or soft stone. Most mabakhras have a square pedestal base with inward sloping sides which support a square cup with outward sloping sides. The wooden base is often carved out to form legs. The cup itself is lined with sheet metal. Older burners were decorated with patterned combinations of soft metal pegs and brass tacks, often with mirrors in the panels of the upper part. The legs were ordinarily covered with sheet metal.
Accents use the best local materials and continued craft to create modern-style mabkharas that still remain true to tradition. Sizesd for tabletop use, Mabkharas add a spark to living spaces and add a unique style statement to any room in your home. The shiny plated metal finish from top to bottom combined with the beautiful floral pattern on the front brings a modern feel to this traditional home accent.
Mabakharas are incense burners that are used to saturate the air with pleasant aromas. They are traditionally placed on low tables in traditional middle eastern living rooms, serving as decorative pieces alongside vases, picture frames, and tables. Though they are commonly referred to as incense burners, Middle Eastern tradition is to burn incense rather than incense sticks inside of them.
