About Lalique:

Lalique is a French glasswear design house founded by René Lalique, a sculptor and crystal artist who was born in the village of Ay in 1860, and raised in both Paris and Ay. René studied at the École de l'Union artistique et industrielle de Paris, but he was forced to leave when his father died. At age twelve, he began an apprenticeship with a Parisian goldsmith and attended evening classes at Sydenham Art College in London.

In 1885, Robert Lalique returned to England from France and started his own jewelry business, for which he designed stylized nature-inspired pieces that depicted animals and the female form. Jewelry at the time placed an emphasis on the quantity of precious stones in a piece, with the design being less important. Lalique changed the course of jewelry forever with this new style of artistry. Lalique has been offering perfume in beautiful vessels since their inception. Lalique's granddaughter Marie Claude, who was also a glass maker, decided to create her own line of fragrance reviving her grandfather's tradition of creating perfume as a work of art. The fragrances are produced in conjunction with Art & Fragrance and since 1994, limited editions of the company's scents have been offered in sculptural bottles each year.
