La Panthere by Cartier For Women
- Concentration: Eau de Toilette
- Size: 75 ml
The new fragrance for women from Cartier, launching in March of 2014, is La Panthere. It draws inspiration from the heritage of the house: panther as a symbol of the brand and Panthere perfume from 1986. La Panthère was also the nickname of Cartier’s lover and muse Jeanne Toussaint. The new perfume is a symbol of freedom for 2014, it represents a woman who is independent, rebellious, and graceful.
The fragrance is sensual, bold floral, and green. It is created by perfumer Mathilde Laurent from central notes of gardenia and animalistic musk. The top of the composition exudes fruity - greenish mixture in the form of molecule styrallyl acetates, containing nuances of rhubarb, strawberries, dried fruit, apple and apricot. The heart is dominated by gardenia to avoid excessive oriental character also as not so common ingredient amongst modern perfumes. Ketone musk and oak moss provide irrefutable chypre character to this sophisticated fragrance for women. The simple luxurious bottle of golden colors shows stylized face of panther. The face of the campaign is supplemented by Erin Wasson, known for her cat-like facial features and boho style.

Cartier gained notoriety in 1904 when Louis Cartier created the first wristwatch for aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. This famous timepiece was known as the "Santos." Crowned heads and aristocrats around the world flocked to Cartier for their jewelry and watches throughout the 20th century.
Cartier is known for its rings and timepieces and is a family owned and operated business. The brand's offerings expanded to include leather goods, pens and scarves in the 1970s, and fragrances in 1981. Must de Cartier for women and Santos de Cartier for men were introduced in 1981. Several fragrances have been launched over the years, many bearing the same names as the company's jewelry collections and timepieces.
